Hot tip one Co pay only

Find policies with no deductible/ coinsurance Doctor visits, co pay only !

Scenario: I think I may have broken my leg. I decided to go to an Orthopedic Doctor.
I did not need a referral because I have an open access plan; PPO/POS.
They x ray my leg and put my leg in a cast. Because they are in network on
my plan, I will pay only my $35 co pay.

Healthy Florida has several carriers who offer  "unlimited" doctor visits
without deductible and co-insurance (Waived).
Some do and have exception when an accident has occurred.

hot tip 2Preventative

Example: Can you have your regular annual check-up,
Physical, PSA, PAP, Mammogram etc..for a regular co pay($5-$60) ?
No deductible, No co-insurance !

Some are co pay waived (no cost)!

Florida Urgent Care CentersUrgent Care Centers

Example: I think I may have the flu, I would go see my regular Doctor
but I am visiting family in Ocala. My Doctor's office is in Naples.
Should I go to the Emergency Room or an Urgent Care 24 hr center?

Urgent  care centers costs are very low and can be applied to most policies. $40-$80 visit.

Emergency Room care is the most expensive care one can get.
Many policies have Emergency Room co pays. $100-$500.

Some carriers have a $50 Co pay for Urgent Care Center visits.

CoinsuranceCoinsurance

Example: I see that 20% coinsurance is the most common.
My group plan I had with a previous employer was 20% also.

I noticed that Healthy Florida quoted some policies that had; 0% 20% 30%.

Check "OPM-Out of pocket maximum" Coinsurance stops once you have reached the "OPM"

Hot5 Change carriers any time

Example: My renewal rate was really high, I still have 2 months to the 12 month anniversary.
But I reached my maximum out of pocket with that Gall Bladder surgery 4 months ago.
My Healthy Florida consultant advised that it would be best to stay on the plan.
Had I not had the surgery, I would have changed to a lower cost plan.
They showed my many choices.

You can change your Insurance carrier anytime.
For people under 65 and on Individual/Family (Non Group).
Plans may have 6, 12 or 24 month rate guarantees.
This does not stop you from changing.
Do be aware that you may have satisfied your deductible and they may
not transfer to your new carrier. Generally it does not.
